About This Lesson

Here is a list of popular art themes used as part of the art curriculum in schools. For each topic I have matched a list of famous artists whose work relates to the theme. I have also added a list of titles of works of art that are relevant. Where there are no specific titles next to the artist it is because they have numerous examples that match the theme. This resource may be useful when planning an art theme or topic. Hopefully; it will allow you to easily find examples from fine art that match the theme you are covering.

Brilliant! Well done... inspire the children with the classics and they will have a passion and love for art in the future... please do not ignore the importance of these artists Woolskie, I mix up the art I show my Year R/1 class, they love modern and classic art and can tell you why they like something or not. You have to be aware of the background of the art you are showing young children as sometime the content and subject is simply too old for them.
