About This Lesson
Image one is an interior view of a British workshop where men are making aircraft propeller blades at Hamptons Munitions Works in Belvedere Road. The floor is covered in wood shavings. During World War I many factories were converted to support the war effort. Image two is of women checking shells to ensure that they meet the standards set; an irregular shell may explode in the barrel of the gun.. Use the attached webpages for lots more images related to World War One.

Tags are for British standards, not U.S.
