About This Lesson

This lesson addresses the question of why people choose to live close to volcanoes if they are so destructive. It uses Iceland as a case study and is illustated with photographs taken by the author.As an activity the students can use the letter templates to explain to someone in another country the benefits and dangers of living in a volcanic region.
