About This Lesson
This sample resource contains the Introduction to The RSC Shakespeare Toolkit for Teachers and
a lesson plan focussing on Romeo and Juliet. The lesson plan is part of a whole scheme of work
around the play which models how to motivate learners aged 8 – 16 to tackle Shakespeare’s plays actively, and engage in close reading of this complex text.
