Thank you for this work. I will use these stations with my 6th graders this year after introducing the 5 themes. I especially appreciate the application task that follows. It will serve as an excellent in depth assessment of individual students' skills after our week of collaborative group work.

What a neat approach! Thank you. We are on an 85 minute block schedule, so cooperative and interactive work is more important than ever! The kids will love and remember the work of this lesson.

Fantastic activity that allows students to discover the 5 Themes using appropriate literature. The subsequent activity is an excellent formative assessment. This lesson plan could be modified for 7th or 8th graders, perhaps with different literature sources.

Great activity that not only

Great activity that not only engages students but addresses literacy standards in Social Studies. This lesson allowed me to see how I can use it no only with 6th grade -Geography but with 7th grade World Civilizations and 8th grade U.S. History. The idea of asking high school students to read for 6th graders is a brilliant idea that fosters listening skills and increases critical thinking skills.
