About This Lesson
This is the third of four lessons from the unit "Addition and Subtraction Strategies." Review with students that a doubles fact is a number sentence that repeats the same addend, such as 3 + 3 = 6 or 8 + 8 = 16. Using connecting cubes, provide students opportunities to practice combining groups with the same number. Begin this lesson by reading the book, Two of Everything by Lily Toy Hong.
