About This Lesson

Students will examine the artistic characteristics of Autumn Poplars, identify regions of the world where leaves turn different colors, examine the texture and appearance of different kinds of leaves, and imitate the motion of falling leaves. ECE Appropriate (Pre-K and younger). Consider including open ended art and science discovery to learn about leaves and their characteristics. Also, consider adding an opportunity to create an impressionist piece of their own based upon the definitions in the lesson plan of how impressionist art is created.
