About This Lesson
This is an assignment meant to stand alone for my multicultural, multilevel classroom of adjudicated youth. I teach a group of young men ranging from 14 years of age to 20. Most of my students have had very little to no formal education. This is meant to reach every level of the spectrum. Students will read the poem and UNRAVEL it. Then summarize and paraphrase the poem. Finally the writing activity will suffice as a culminating exercise to focus them on the sound devices.
