About This Lesson

This is a high frequency word assessment. I have the first 13 popcorn words (high frequency words) taught written individually on cardstock paper and laminated. I spread 6-8 words on the floor in a row. Students sit in a circle around the words. One at a time, students hop over the word while reading it. It the child doesn't know the word, he/she looks to me for help and I say the word and repeat it. When the child hops to the last word, there is a bowl of Skittles or M & M's waiting for them to take only "one". It's a very motivating review assessment.
