About This Lesson

In the multi-part lesson, students will explore excerpts from The Narrative of Frederick Douglass, as well as construct a literary analysis of irony within the text. Students will participate in scaffolded activities that will encourage independent study and the ability to respond critically to posed questions. There is also an essay attached that can be used as an assessment. This fits nicely into a memoir unit.
