About This Lesson

Watch June Grant, AIA, a San Francisco based architect, share how as a young girl she enjoyed watching buildings under construction and feeling the excitement from each new phase of the process. One of her favorite projects was NASA Ames Sustainability Base – a completely computerized building where the lights and even the windows operate automatically based on data. For girls interested in designing their dream home, she encourages them to take a look at one of her inspirations, the Farnsworth House by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, near Chicago.
