About This Lesson

This is a lesson plan showing how Caesar chased Pompey's legions to Greece and despite Pompey having the larger army, Caesar managed to defeat Pompey and force him to run. Caesar's strategy was to surround Pompey with forts and cut off the supply chain to Pompeys 60,000 troops who needed a lot of food to stay alive. Pompey was forced to leave his camp and seek attack one of Caesar's forts hoping to make a break through. The 500 soldiers protecting Caesar's fort held until Caesar returned against 30,000 troops.
