About This Lesson
The overarching long-term purpose of this task is to equip students with the necessary skills to effectively communicate through written correspondence in various life and business situations. In preparation for the real world of higher education and career, students will be introduced to formal and letter writing, including: Special Occasion Speech (SOS), Obituary, Eulogy, Resume, Letter of Complaint, and a Letter of Request. By the end of this unit, students should be able to transfer and apply the skills they have developed to various life situations such as writing a job application, requesting information or addressing complaints, and writing personal letters. In addition, they should be able to apply these skills in business situations such as writing professional emails, business proposals, and networking letters. Ultimately, this unit aims to prepare students for effective communication in both personal and professional contexts, promoting their success in the future.
