About This Webinar

Join NBC Learn and Share My Lesson for a webinar on using the news in your classroom.

Bringing topical news stories into your classroom shows students relevance to what they are learning and using archival news stories help create context. The news provides the perfect opportunity to build critical thinking skills with your students.  By honing in on analysis, reasoning, and decision-making of the news, you are building the rigor your students need for college and career readiness. This session will provide examples, including classroom discussions and student blogging activities, you can use immediately with your students.

Professional Credit

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

Share My Lesson is now a New York State Education Department-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements and an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approved Professional Development provider.
