About This Lesson

This lesson begins with a review of what happened in the first part of the story, followed by an interactive reading where the teacher will read the second part of the storybook (pp. 8-11). Students will engage in a chant that summarizes the first two parts of the text. They will also write a brief summary of the second part of the text and illustrate it. Teacher notes are included in the teacher’s guide. Aligned to Common Core State Standards: RL.1.1, RL.1.2, RL.1.7, Sl.1.1, SL.1.5, L.1.4, W.1.3
