About This Lesson

An image of children packing tea in c1910. From 1921 children had to be at least 12 years old before they could work full-time, though some of these boys look younger. Image two is of young children helping to build a haystore. The attached link provides lots more images of children at work in various times and places.

The above classification is for British standards. For the U.S. this resource could be used in 9th or 10th grade for World History and U.S. History when discussing Industrialization. Do not use the image links because they either don't work or are too small to see. Instead, use the "web: Activity" link for some great resources on primary images during the British Industrial Revolution of children working.
