About This Lesson

Students will learn about slavery in the United States through the eyes of a young girl who visits the South just prior to the Civil War. She is upset by what she sees and comes back to Albany, Ny as a committed abolitionist. Aligned with Common Core State Standards: RL.4.3, RL.5.3, W.4.2, W.5.2
