About This Lesson
This lesson is useful when teaching students about the power of word choice. In this lesson, students choose tone words from stories they have read in class. Then, students explore synonyms of the tone words using dictionary.com and Wordle. Students then substitute words within the stories using a paper-slide video, communicating through visuals how the different connotations of the synonyms would change the story.
