About This Lesson
Governments come in all shapes, sizes, and forms that affect the daily lives of people all over the world. In the Create Your Own Type of Government lesson, students will learn the defining characteristics of various forms of government in order to prepare for a major undertaking – creating a government of their own and defending their system against opponents.

I modified the handout to match my states standards which included discussion on consent of the governed rule of law and limited government. I also required my students to create a flag for their country and to describe what the colors symbolize.
