About This Lesson

In this lesson, students use a Garden Design Tool to explore how a garden works as a living natural system. A garden filters water, provides habitat, improves soil, reduces your carbon footprint and engages the community. Students map how these ecological systems operate in a garden, compare them to the natural world, and then use the Garden Design tool to create a productive mini-ecosystem!
