About This Lesson

This structured academic controversy asks students if the government is doing too much or not doing enough to promote the general welfare economically. Students will be assigned to a position, read primary source documents for evidence to support the position, and discuss their findings with group members. The goal is for students to develop a well rounded understanding of the issue. It is not a debate.
