About This Lesson

This is a great math center activity. Each child is given a recording sheet and small bowl of buttons in a variety of sizes. Each child takes a handful of buttons and sorts them into the appropriate circle, either large or small. He/she then counts and records how many of each he/she had. Each child takes 8 turns. When turns are over, each child needs to look at all the numbers recorded and figure out which size button he/she grabbed the most. The child writes either large or small on the recording sheet.

I love how hands-on this activity is and it addresses several CCSS for math. A fun activity for both visual and tactile learners. Thanks for sharing!
