About This Lesson

Immediately following the 9/11 attacks, thousands of people came to the World Trade Center to help with the rescue, recovery, and clean-up period at what would now be known as Ground Zero. This interactive timeline features objects, images, video, and first-hand accounts to chronicle the 9-month rescue, recovery, and clean-up period that took place at Ground Zero following the 9/11 attacks. Use the chart to assess what students know and want to know about the 9-month rescue, recovery, and clean-up period before exploring the timeline and then return to it to assess what they learned.

This resource appears in Module 4 of our 9/11 Primer.
