About This Lesson

This lesson plan is designed to teach students about the lives of those on the home front, including women, slaves, and children. Students will also learn about how news traveled from the battlefield and the effect that the news from the field had on those at home. This lesson plan is aligned to Common Core and National Council for the Social Studies standards and has been endorsed by the History Channel.
