About This Lesson

This is a spinoff of a YouTube video on counting backwards to 20. I use it as a large group activity. Copy and laminate enough copies for each child in your class. We start counting in our regular voice, pointing to the black dots as we count backwards. We do the chart at least four times, using a different voice each time, such as: baby, monster, opera singer, whisper, crabby, happy, etc. Once the children are familiar with the pointing and counting, I let them choose the voice to use. Later we increase the speed of how fast we count.

Very cute activity! I love the idea of using different types of voices. I'm sure your students have a lot of fun with this. Thanks for sharing!
