About This Lesson

This is a fun center activity for kindergartners during a unit on insects. Run 10 sets of the insect cards on white cardstock paper and laminate. Deal 3 cards to each student and place the remaining cards in a draw pile. Students first check to see if they have a pair of insects and lay those cards aside. Students take turns asking anyone in the group if they have a specific insect. If they do, they must give the card to the person requesting it. If not, they say, "Go Fish", and the child takes a card from the draw pile. The student with the most pairs wins.
