About This Lesson
How does the food you eat make it to your kitchen table? How has technology made that process easier? In this lesson, PBS NewsHour takes a look at how new apps strengthen the economy in California’s Salinas Valley by watching the NewsHour video, “California’s ‘Salad Bowl’ is cultivating more than crops.”
Students will create their own card game based on their research of important scientific factors which play a role in the agriculture industry. Then, they will have the opportunity to design their own app to help a business in their community.
