About This Lesson

The exhibition featured in these materials, See the Light—Photography, Perception, Cognition: The Marjorie and Leonard Vernon Collection, is composed of photographs that serve as representative examples of the entire history of the medium. While photography as we know it today started in the early nineteenth century, the quest to record the natural world as it appears to the human eye actually dates back much further. These resources can be easily adapted to be used with students in grades 6-12
