This is an excellent resource, students have to input coordinates to find the location of a giraffe. Each time they guess they are told how far away they are, so after a few guesses it is possible to work out the position using this information. This requires students to understand coordinates and think strategically, but it also develops ideas of loci so it could be used as an introduction to this topic. There are some very helpful teacher notes on the link which explain how you might build a lesson around this activity. Thank you for sharing.

Practicing plotting coordinates in the first quadrant is approached in a very interesting way that students will enjoy.
