About This Lesson

Image one is of a late medieval bay window. The size and position of the window would have made it clear to people that the owners were important and wealthy. Image two is a 15th century hall house has a pair of 2 storey wings and is very richly decorated. It would have been a high status home and built in a peaceful area as it has no defensive features. Use the weblink to find lots more images of medieval buildings

All the above standards are for the U.K. and do not apply to U.S. standards. The links to the images do not work. These images do not directly correspond to any U.S. history standards.

The link labeled "web: activities" goes to some useful primary source pictures through various times in Britain which could be good for 7th grade Middle Ages, Muslim Influence. The images could be used to show examples of Muslim Influence to Europe.
