About This Lesson
The main focus on this topic is to have the students explore different concepts of identity in their communities. The Unit objective is that the students will be able to create a presentation where they explain who they are such as cultural background, personal beliefs, qualities and how their personal identity defines their role within their communities. The goal of instruction for the next two weeks is that students will be able to identify and name the meaning of their identity and what is their impact in their communities. We have students from many backgrounds but something in common they all have is that their personal identity creates a perspective based on how they portray themselves.
