About This Lesson
This is a great activity to do in the spring. Students make binoculars with two toilet paper rolls taped together. Each students gets a clipboard and recording sheet. Students go to the school yard for about 10 minutes and search for insects and birds. Each time they see one, they make a tally mark on the recording sheet. Students really get into the search and enjoy using "binoculars" to find the creatures!
