About This Lesson

This teaching kit takes students on a trip from farm to table. Along the way, they’ll learn about modern agriculture, environmental sustainability, global cultures and cuisines, and healthy proteins.

First, students travel to the farm to learn about sustainable agriculture and how pig farmers have reduced the environmental impacts of pork production. Then it’s time to discover how pork is used in local cuisines around the world. And for families, the program includes a take-home letter with ideas for making mealtimes meaningful, plus easy-to-prepare pork recipes that students and their families are sure to enjoy.

Visit PROGRAM SITE for additional resources including recipes, a poster on how to identify pork cuts, and a cooking times chart.

Made Possible By: The National Pork Board.
