About This Lesson

This lesson plan is designed to help students identify and discuss the causes of the Civil War. The students will learn about the tensions and differences between the North and the South before the war, and the different compromises that were instituted to resolve issues before the war broke out. This lesson plan is aligned to Common Core and National Council for the Social Studies standards and has been endorsed by the History Channel.
