About This Lesson

Image one is a reconstruction drawing of Stokesay Castle, Britain. Really a fortified manor house, it was built in the 1280s by Lawrence of Ludlow, a wealthy wool merchant. Image two is a drawing reconstructing the interior of the refectory of the Cistercian monastery of Cleeve Abbey as it might have looked one mealtime soon after its completion in the 13th century. Use the linked webpage for lots more images of reconstruction drawings.

The JPG links do not work for the reconstruction images. The WEB activity links work and have great resources that can be used in the classroom when you want to teach/learn about Britain's history. The images are great primary source images to be used! The English Heritage Home Page is full of information that can be used when students are wanting to learn more about Britain.
