About This Lesson

Students will use the Tlingit House Partition to guide their learning about the Tlingit people’s views on social status and the natural world. They will then explore their own views on status and nature, as well as those of their culture, and compare them to those of the Tlingit people. The lesson will culminate in students creating their own “partition.” Although this lesson is written for grades 6-12 it is aligned to Common Core State Standards: SL.3.1 , SL.4.1 , SL.5.1
