About This Lesson

This rubric is the New York City Grades 9-10 English Rubric for scoring a performance task, but I've removed the first row (Trait 1) since it is dealing with short answer questions. The rest of it serves as a comprehensive argumentative writing rubric. The second attachment is a worksheet to have students re-phrase the criteria of the rubric in their own words for 3 categories - writing an argument/claim, command of evidence, and writing a counterclaim.
