About This Lesson

This Role Play has students imagine they are part of Russia during the Revolution. It's like a choose your own adventure - for each event, students have a question about what they would do, phrased as a YES or NO. Their choice moves them to the next step or skipping to another step. The goal is to survive until the end of the game, but several wrong moves and a student can end up killed by either the Tsar, WWI, the Red Army, the White Army, or Stalin. It is formatted for google classroom, so if you want to print it for students, I'd replace the boxes with lines so they can write their ideas.

You can’t :( the goal of the role play is to stay alive, so if the students end up dead, I tell them to go to the previous step and change their decision to see if they can redo it and get farther without dying.

Just what I was looking for

Thanks, Adam!
Loved how the what if... played out in this learning exercise. I might adapt it as escape room kind of thing and name it surviving the Russian revolution.
