About This Lesson

The inspiring story of a young girl named Sadako who attempted to make 1000 origami cranes (birds) as a sign of peace after the Hiroshima bomb. Most inspiring is the determination of her friends to make a memorial to all the children affected by the bombs. Includes the story, reading and writing activities, and an origami activity.
