About This Lesson
The purpose of this animation is to explain the difference between solar and sidereal time. The difference occurs because of the motion of the Earth
in its orbit around the Sun.
The difference between the solar and sidereal time has been exaggerated to make it easier to see. In reality it is only about 4 minutes (equivalent to just under 1).
