About This Lesson

This is a great partner math center activity. Each set of partners are given a yardstick, one die, tub of Unifix Cubes and a recording sheet. Partners lay the yardstick between them on the floor and take turns rolling the die. The child makes a train with the number of cubes rolled. Children lay the train on their side of the yardstick. On each roll, they add cubes to their train. The person whose train reaches the end of the yardstick first wins the round and get a tally mark point. At the end of 15 minutes, partners count and record their tally marks.

This is a very hands-on and engaging activity to practice counting "how many". Thanks for sharing!
