About This Lesson

I made this to help my students better understand what they could use a dictionary for; and how.I made it with the Collins Easy Learning French-Eng/ Eng-French dictionary in mind.I've tried to make it so that the instructions guide students through the different stages; However I found that it worked much better as an accompaniment to oral instructions and demonstration; Particularly towards the end as it gets quite 'wordy'.

A really nice resource, perfect for cover lessons for instance, taking pupils step by step to understand how best to use dictionaries. Be careful, I think your spell check has automatically changed mettre into metre on page 3 (twice) and it should be grossir, not grosser (again, spell check I suspect).

Thank you for sharing, always nice to have a different way to help children understand ho to use a bi-ligual dictionary.

Very many thanks - I've been wondering how to introduce dictionary skills in French lessons and your sheets provide the perfect answer. Many thanks for all the hard work.

Thank you so much, just what I was looking for and the example of playing cricket with a chauve-souris was perfect for my students who are overly fond on internet translators.
