Mark Feltskog

Since 1990, I've worked with adolescents in a variety of settings and capacities.I worked for 15 years as a teacher in three Title I schools in New York City in the service of struggling learners. After two very difficult years in two very challenging schools, I am most likely done working as a teacher in public schools. In 2015, I started a blog, Mark's Text Terminal, to post materials I have developed for the students I teach. I consider myself, first and foremost, a literacy teacher; I use and adapt the curriculum to help my charges improve their ability to read, and to build their academic (i.e. conceptual) vocabularies. Every Friday, I publish a Weekly Text, usually a set of cohesive documents, which I then cross-post on Share My Lesson Plan.
