Identity Safe Classrooms is a site whose purpose is to support educators to assure that all students feel a sense of belonging and achieve at the highest levels. Identity safe environments are places where students of all backgrounds are welcomed, supported, and academically successful and accepting of others. Cohn-Vargas Consulting has created this SML site to provide a range of audio-visual materials, podcasts, and lesson plans. Educators can use them to build empathy and learn about people from a range of cultures and backgrounds. Materials can help to create safe spaces, counter stereotypes and address racism, anti-Semitism, Islamaphobia, Homophobia, and other biases in schools.
