Hello, this is very exciting and I would love to have a question asked regarding Head Start. There has been talk about increasing funding for salaries so that we can remain competitive with the local school districts. As you ay know, we invest a lot into training for the teachers. Then, they leave our program to work in the school districts for thousands more. Can you tell us if there are plans in place for additional funding?

How can we work with you to make sure that the Department of Education prioritizes instituting policies that demonstrate an asset-based approach to multilingualism, honoring and uplifting bilingual students and language learners as well as empowering all students to aim for multilingualism?

I am writing you as a California Retired Teacher concerning the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset. (GPO). It is my understanding that if my husband dies before me, I will get very little or none of his social security. This is unfair to many public employees in 15 states. I worked 40 years while raising a family and putting my husband through college so he could learn a living. Now we are both retired and he is a 5 year cancer survivor. WEP and GPO are very unfair and need to be repealed. Rodney Davis introduced H.R 82 to do this and I ask for your support and that you encourage both Republicans and Democrats to support this bill. Also, there is no place to email you on topics not listed on the Secretary of Education site. Do you have an email you recommend?

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum is excited to participate in this year's Share My Lesson Virtual Conference!

My name is Meredith and I am the Assistant Manager of Youth & Family Programs at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York City. My colleague Jen and I are leading a session at 6 p.m. next Thursday March 25 focusing on how to leverage first-person narratives to connect 9/11 with the current COVID-19 pandemic. We are really excited to share our resources and expertise with you all. Hope to see you there!

As Meredith has said, she and I are very excited to meet all of you virtually! In my nearly seven years at the Museum, I've seen how much first person narratives can change and deepen a student's relationship to the content, and I'm looking forward to sharing many with you all!

Your work for museums with 1st person narratives is fascinating (to this social studies major turned librarian).

thanks, Linda! I hope we get the chance to meet you virtually in a few weeks. We are in the process right now of making some really cool library-specific resources around the 20th anniversary!

Hi everyone! I'm Renee Stewart and I teach Life Skills classes for Teen Court. I'm looking forward to Media Literacy for Today's World: Lessons Learned from Nazi Propaganda. One of the many things I work on with my students is good decision-making skills and also knowing your personal values so you can make those decisions.

Hi! My name is Dina Austin and I teach English Language Learners in western NY. It is my first year teaching ELLs full time and I truly love it! I am most looking forward to the Anti Bias and Culturally Responsive Teaching seminar. I feel that this would help my students tremendously. I am also taking a class on Culturally Responsive Teaching, so I think the conference would help to expand my knowledge about that!

My name is Emily Kavanagh.

I am a Grade 6-8 Special Education Math Teacher at Phoenix Academy, an alternative school serving students with emotional disabilities, in Annapolis, MD. This is my 2nd year at Phoenix but my 13th year in Education. I am looking forward to the Turnaround for Children Presents the Student Well-Being Index Webinar because I have been very concerned about my students well-being during the Pandemic. I returned to the classroom on Feb. 17th and my students return for hybrid instruction in March.
