Introduction to Figurative Language

1, Students were asked what they already knew about poetry.
2. Showed them a small section of a song and then played the song.
3. I explained that songs are just like poetry and handed out a figurative language worksheet.
4. They watch a video that demonstrated other songs with figurative language
5. Showed another video with figurative language.- Great opening for poetry

For Homework - I told the students to look at the lyrics of the favorite song and find at least 2 figurative language. T
