About This Lesson
In this lesson, students will reflect on their own perceptions of those with intellectual disabilities. They will be challenged to complete an extraordinary challenging task and relate the experience to the frustrations and feelings that those with intellectual disabilities are often faced with daily. This lesson would work well in a unit that explores civic responsibility, inclusion, or social justice. This lesson could extend into language arts, social studies—particularly social justice—health/science, and technology.
