About This Lesson
This 8th grade ELA lesson plan was designed with the general goal of having students support claims as to what determines one's fate based on literature such as the Popol Vuh, personal experiences and nonfiction literature. This resource includes the objectives, learning standards, materials required, step-by-step procedure, plan for independent practice, a grading rubric and some possible extension ideas. Aligned to Common Core State Standards: W.8.1, W.8.4
Thankyou to the contributor of this lesson:I find it very useful before teaching Existentialism to my students.I always teach the main ideas of Existentialist theories before the study of The Absurdist theatre and in my case "Waiting for Godot".It will be a very interesting pre-reading activity!
